Default Scanning into a container field - 08-17-2010 , 10:44 AM

I need a solution where I scan a number of documents and have them
inserted into a container field in a series of records.

I'm more than comfortable using FM and scripting a solution. What I
don't know is how, from FileMaker, can I initiate a scan and capture
the result? I'd settle for scripting a scan into a directory and
having to loop through an import into a bunch of container fields.

The solution would preferably be cross-platform, although as a minimum
it must support Mac.

I currently have an Epson 2400 but am looking to buy a scanner with a
document feeder. I'm willing to buy one for this purpose.

So, if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
