Why would Apple or FileMaker spend the development money to change over the interface of their entire product to satisfy only about 20% of its customers? Even putting aside the Aqua/Cocoa controls, FileMaker is FULL of old interfaces, dialogs, etc that haven't been updated in a decade. This effects ALL of FMI's customers regardless of platform. I agree that an upgrade is due, but development of such needs to be cost-effective for them. If they get to the point where they decide it's a good idea to redo the entire FMP interface, then it is likely not to be platform-specific and it is likely to be an interface that is not going to put off 80% of its customer base. It doesn't matter who owns FileMaker -- what matters is the bottom line and what makes the most sense for the people who use the product. |
