Default Repeating Container Fields - 03-01-2007 , 11:00 AM

I'm new to filemaker, and just wondering
how you can display multiple repetitions of the same container field
on a layout?
I've already defined the container field to be repeating,

Thanks

Warren.

Glad you figured it out, but I feel a little warning coming on. You don't
say which version of FMP you use, but before fmp7 it was very complicated to
work with repetitions. Getting data in and out always remained complex, plus
it is difficult to remember what exactly was stored in which repetition. For
7&8 things are better and one of the ways to use repetitions is storing
graphics for the GUI. But in my opinion storing scans and photo´s (etc) in
repeating fields and then later expecting to use them individualy is asking
for trouble. Just create as many fields as you need, fmp 7 or 8 have no
practicle limit to the number of fields.

I know there are people who think otherwise, just my private opinion of
things.

Keep well, Ursus

Thanks for the warning Ursus.
I'm using FM Pro 8.5 Advanced
I was using a repeating container just for 2 small icons that I wanted
a calculation to switch between
they were essentially buttons to show up in a portal

View buttons when there is data in a portal row
and an Add button when you're on the last row of a portal ( containing
no data as of yet ).

From your description, it doesn't sound like I'll run into many
problems like this

Thanks again
All the Best
