The simplest method is export (after an import of a folder with images)
to another database (ordered with "filename" field).
But my question is : generally, at FM, there is not a method to browse
a database according to a specific field (without changing this order after
a "find" ) ?

I don't know any alternative, although you do not export, but make an
emtpy clone and do an import from there, after a "select all records"
and a "sort on FileName" in the original one.

The only solution would be to have an Script that sorts the records, and
set the Preferences for that database to perform the Script when opening
the database (although it could take a while with LOTS of records and / or
a slow computer).

You could script to go to certain overview layouts and sort, too.

but as soon as you perfrom a Find or create / import new records they'll
be incorrectly ordered and you'll have to perform the Script to re-sort
them again.

Realistically, the sensible soultion is to Sort the records (or a smaller
Found Set) only when they NEED to be in that order, and otherwise not
worry about it.

Perfectly true.

However, it could be part of a backup strategy to save a file every
night, create a clone, import, name the old file to database_date.fp7 and
the clone to database.fp7

I feel this should not be done, but it's a working solution,
Even that's not going to work since as soon as you create / import new
records, they'll be "out of correct order" again. The only sensible
solution is to Sort the records when they NEED to be sorted ... which,
unless it's an incredibly badly designed / used database (which it sounds
like it very likely is), is never going to be ALL the records ALL the
time.

Nope. FileMaker Pro is far more flexible than Access in many ways, and
Access is better in others (usability NOT being one of them).

I dont like FileMaker because is so stupid program !

I prefer MSAccess because it have snapshoots !
Then use Access. I don't know what "snapshots" are, but I doubt it's what
you're wanting either - if it appears to be what you want, then no doubt
Access is sorting the records too, albeit behind the scenes.

FileMaker is not a "stupid program". It's users who complain because they
can't do what they want that are "stupid", especially when they apparently
have been using the application for only about 5 minutes.
