Hi group I just re-install Windows XP SP2 (for many raisons) on the SAME PC using all the same setup, I re-install FM6.... now I have a refresh problem, when a switch layout the FM screen redraw itself many time without me touching anything. #2-I use the Script Scheduler plugin, now when I use this fonction to execute a script when user get out of a field, the refresh redraw the screen, but not 100%, the background is missing, some colors etc ect..... the same solution working on other PC on the network don't do that ?? any clues ?? all using the same plug and Win XP SP2 Thank you JF |

Hi JF I have had simmilar problems before. They were gone when I did the windows install again. Have had some problems after that. It seems to me that the windows install is not allways quite the same. I have no other explanation. Example: My machine has USB2 ports. After the first re-install windows only recognised them as USB1. After the second re-install all was good. But now I have some font problems. Nothing major so I just leave it as it is. So in your spare time try to re-install again. The only piece missing from the Mac version of MS Office is the Access database (and possibly some part of the Exchange server connection). Of course, with Microsoft having now produced a new version of their Office applications , they're incompatible with the current Mac and Windows versions (unless the users of the new versions remember to do a Save As) until the new Mac version arrives later in the year. For other software there's almost always either a Mac version or an alternative, although sometimes the alternative may not be good enough for some highly specific software (eg. there's no AutoCAD for Mac, I don't know if any of the alternatives are good / compatible enough for manufacturing purposes). I mean Office use.... not "microsoft office", (We use Autocad) but anyway let's get back to my original concern... My refresh problem is not a full windows problem, it's only the FM6 that redraw itself, when I change layout, the new layout appear on screen, then get refresh, and refresh and refresh again... it's a FM behavior..... not Windows XP, the back ground stay fine, it's only within the FM windows. I reboot and Close all othe Application and still the problem is there. And it's also doing it on layout without any field.... ?!?! The funny thing it's only happening when I go to a new layout, It's getting on my nerves after only 2h !! help !!! ![]() "Helpful Harry" <helpful_harry (AT) nom (DOT) de.plume.com> a écrit dans le message de news: 170220070957401941%helpful_harry (AT) nom (DOT) de.plume.com... If it's via a script (or button running a script), then the script could easily be doing things that require a screen refresh. Thanks Harry, but that not it..... even if I'm on the layout for couple of mins, this behavor happen. I run FM and disable all the plugin (and remember, I only reinstall Windows XP, without re-format HD, reinstall FM from CD) Same application, same version, same upgrade.... It's doing it also when I commit a record, All layout, anywhere it's doing this redraw screen, the mouse pointer change to an hourglass for 1-2 sec and repeating that for about 2-3 times. |

It could be a corrupt database file or failing hard drive causing problems when trying to save records. If possible try another Filemaker file (or create a simple new one) and see if it suffers from the same problem.
