Default Recover vs import for adding records thru excel - 06-08-2010 , 04:17 PM

I want to add approx. 40 new records to my existing database. It
would be alot faster if I could import the data from an Excel
spreadsheet. What's the best way to accomplish this? Do I

1 - Export or Save Records As to .xls,
2 - add my new rows
3 - Import or Recover?

I have v8.5. Thank you.

Import directly from Excel into your FileMaker database. No need for any
other gyrations. Just do the appropriate field mapping in the Import
dialog, and check the box "Add new records."

Regarding the Recover command: The sole purpose of that is to retrieve
data from a corrupted Filemaker database. it should not be used for any
other purpose.

Suggest you read the FileMaker Help file on Import and on Recover.
