Hi Scott

If you are using a Mac and OSX, just press Command-P to print, select "Save
as file" as your output option, "current record" as your filemaker pro
option, then hit print to produce a perfect .pdf doc that looks identical to
the layout (and which can be opened and edited in Acrobat).

Running Filemaker 5 server and clients

This is kinda complex problem.

I have a database that has some information manually entered from a
purchase order. Now I would like to scan that purchase order and save
as an electronic file, saved on a server.

Is there anyway I can have a button open Adobe Acrobat?
-If so can I have it automatically scan the document?
--If so can I have it save the file with a specific name (given by
FM)?

Thanks in advance.

Scott

I had the same problem - check http://www.dacons.net/fmplugins/ for a
plugin called Launch It.

I've done what you propose using a simple script to open a tax program on
client machines, create a script to open a URL which would be c:\program
files\Adobe\Acrobat.exe.
Works great as long as the install path on everyone's pc is the same.
