I've heard (though I wasn't there) that an iPhone app for FileMaker was
announced at last August's FileMaker Developers Conference.
One of the differences between a Bento app and a FileMaker app, however,
is that FileMaker has a scripting tool that users can then use to
customize their application and write scripts that interact with the OS,
etc. These types of apps generally do not qualify as iPhone apps and
are thus not approved.
Perhaps FileMaker is still trying to work out this aspect of the app
between FileMaker's and Apple's legal teams? |
With some restrictions, you can already run FileMaker applications on
and iPhone and thus on an iPad. The application is called fmtouch.
