Default Question about re-itemizing numbers - 03-16-2007 , 04:01 PM

Before I started using Filemaker Pro, my invoicing program accessed
certain items which often referred to the same catalog numbers.
Example:

#A-100 Green apples, ea. ....... $.10
Green apples, per 10... .70
Green apples, per 100...5.00

I later imported my data to FM Pro 3.0. Since the first item
description will usually appear first in the invoice, I've thought of
re-assigning individual catalog numbers for each item.

This is how my invoice looks:

Qty Cat. # Description Price Ext.
______________________________________

In my portal, Cat. # uses a pop-up list so when I start typing a
description in the Cat. # field, the Description field scrolls to my
selection, which is copied from the Inventory file. Currently, to make
"Green apples, per 100" appear in the invoice, I have to erase "ea."
in "Green apples, ea." and type "100."

Description and Price fields auto-enter and copy look-up values from
the Inventory file. The Ext. field is a calculation field (Qty x
Price).

Before I start a long procedure, what is the best way to deal with
this issue?

Thanks.
