Default production schedule advice for FMP6 - 12-07-2005 , 09:09 PM

Hello. I'm hoping to get a few ideas from the group on a project.

I recently had a request to add some features to a "Production
Schedule" file in our FileMaker solution. The production schedule is
accessed primarily through a portal in the main file. Users create due
dates for various parts of a project, and track their progress by
entering the actual date it was finished.

Users would like to assign a specific length of time (in days) to a
task, and have FileMaker give them a due date. They also would like to
be able to update this information and have it automatically change,
like if they missed a deadline and wanted it to move forward. In
otherwords, they want Microsoft Project

I know this is an extremely ambitious project, so I'm open to any
pre-existing solutions. If anyone has any advice, examples, or can
show me where I can buy it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
joseph

Details:
- 30 clients running FileMaker Pro 6, Macs and PCs
- 1 FileMaker Server 5.5
- 15 files
- total number of records in all files: 50,000 (guessing)
