Default Problems with export field contents. - 10-03-2005 , 01:10 PM

Hi there,

I'm using Filemaker Pro 7 on OS X 10.3. I have a database into which I
import images having scanned them and saved them as a JPEG. I then
(later) run a script which exports these images into a named JPEG file.

This script works fine on the set of images that were already in the
database when it was imported from its legacy Filemaker 4.x version,
but it seems that all of the images put in since that conversion are
exporting faultily.

They are exported as what seem to be TIFF files with 518 blank bytes
before some other garbage with the word TIFF appearing 672 bytes from
the start of the file, then what is apparently the TIFF data (it's a
while since I last saw a TIFF file, so I can't remember offhand exactly
what they're like)

Example files are at
http://www.orthodoxbooks.co.uk/FaultyBookCover.jpg
http://www.orthodoxbooks.co.uk/CorrectBookCover.jpg

with correct being the original JPEG file imported and faulty being the
one as exported from FMP.

Has anyone come across anything like this before? Like I say, the files
that were imported into the database before the database was converted
from the FMP 4.x format to the FMP 7 format are still exporting fine,
but as far as I can tell, all the ones imported since then have this
problem.

If there are any solutions that people know of, or a way to read these
exported files, I'd be extremely glad to know.

Thanks,

Ambrose
