Default Printing and zooming in windows 7 - 03-05-2010 , 04:30 AM

I have a problem with filemaker pro 10 on windows 7.
Normally I use layouts which are a bit bigger than the paper size, and
then in printing phase I set up the zoom to 60/70% (in a script) to get
the correct size.

Everything works correctly on OSX10.5/5 and also if I remember
correctly windows XP, but there are no ways that windows 7 remembers the
settings.

After having set up the printer it will still print in the default
format.
Any idea?
I tried with 3 printers and all the same issues.

Another thing probably still related with windows 7...
I'm keeping downloading the v3 update for FMpro 10 but it always says
it's corrupted (downloaded with 2 different browsers) and that's
strange, anyone else got the same problem?

I have never come across a Windows print driver that allows zooming. If
the print driver can't normally handle zoom, then there is no way for
FileMaker to manage or remember the zoom settings for a print setup.

You shouldn't really use print scaling. You're best to set-up the Layout to
be actual size. If also you need to be able to see it on-screen, then use a
separate Layout (don't use FileMaker's in-built Zoom since it's not accurate
at anything other than 100%).
