Yes, FileMaker has its own way to 'share' files among a network, that may -
in fact that will - enter in conflict with the OS sharing mechanism, leading
to corruption of the files. Therefore the files have to be in a non
OS-shared folder, and should be opened only from a workstation through the
open / Host button.
That has been true and still is.
