Hi there- I'm finally going to upgrade my company's version from 5.5/6 to 8.0/8.5 and so I'm learning a lot. One thing that is currently a mystery is the question of when exactly a file is open and when it is closed. I have done testing with the design functions that give me a list of open files, and often I can't get files to close, even with a blank layout showing, and the use of the Close File script step. Do I care? I see the benefit of separating the windows from the files--I've been trying to stop my users from closing files for years...now it looks like I don't have to worry about it. But now I am a little worried about whether a file is actually closed when I close it. Should I worry? Any insight welcomed and appreciated. |
