Default Not saving scripts! - 09-24-2009 , 09:07 AM

Sometimes I want to see only the current record instead of all of
them, so I change the script and save it.
But when I launch it it's still wrong and if I check it didn't save my
setting.

The same thing works for the printer settings, so I don't understand
why here it doesn't..
Any idea?

What change are you making to the script to do this?

The change is "print examinated records" to "print current record" (I
don't know if that is exactly the translation in FM PRO in english.

This setting doesn't get saved in the script.
Isn't there a debugging mode?

Is the stupid applescript editor the only way to manage them?

Well, I don't know about any applescript editors in FileMaker. The
Print Setup script step, however, only takes action while printing. You
say it works for the printer settings, so I have to assume you are also
trying to change the appearance on screen. You will only see one
record, even if your found set includes more than one record, by
changing the view to 'form' view instead of 'list' view. Or you can use
a script to limit your found set to just the current record by doing
these three steps:

Show All Records
Omit Record
Show Only Omitted Records

Hope that helps...or else I still don't understand what you are trying
to do.

The problem is that I didn't really understand myself, I'm just
posting the problem I'm not the FM user...
I will try to understand better, but in short it's just the script
editor (apple editor was of course a mistake) not remembering
settings.

The printing example was just pointing out that sometimes it works
correctly...

start with telling version fmp and platform
please, post the whole script
Tell us what it does and what you expect it to do
tell what you are trying to change and why
tell exactly what buttons you hit and when.
Then tell us what the effect is and which changes are not saved.
