FileMaker Server 8 now available

FileMaker today announced the availability of FileMaker
Server 8, the latest version of its high performance
database server software for up to 250 users and 125
FileMaker Pro database files.

The new server software features an improved database
engine designed to make searching, adding, deleting and
editing data significantly faster than in FileMaker
Server 7, says the company.

In addition, this release offers: automatic consistency
checking on all hosted files for increased data
reliability, support for a mix of FileMaker Pro 8 and
FileMaker Pro 7 clients, and more.

FileMaker Server 8 is priced at US$999.
