If you are into serious cleanup, or if you contemplate a conversion
effort on those files, look into MetadataMagic (www.ncmi.com) and
BrushFire (www.chapsoft.com).

Indispensible developer tools.

Really?!?!
I've never used them (I don't think I've ever even heard of
MetadataMagic) so they can't be THAT "indispensible". ;o)

No, I'll agree with Lynn on this one -- Metadata Magic is absolutely
indispensible. I did for a long time without it, but now that I've used
it, I don't see how I lived without it. And if I'm ever asked to
convert a FileMaker solution from 6 to 7 without MdM, you might as well
just chop off both my hands. No way, no how.

Ah, FileMaker 6 to 7. That could explain why I've never heard of it
since I'm still not using FileMaker 7 anywhere. )
Well, no. Both have been out for for quite a while (I first encountered
both at least two years ago), and while they might be useful for preparing
to migrate 6-7, neither one is 7-compatible.

Chapsoft doesn't mention the issue at all on its site, and New Millennium
(it's nmci.com, btw) clearly states that they aren't rushing out a 7
version, and that the demo DL is 6 only.
