Default Mysterious numbers appearing... - 08-04-2003 , 02:55 PM

Hey All,
I was hoping some one here would help me with an odd problem. I have a
repeating field, (text, indexed, repeating) that displays a number in row 7
(of 20) only when you select "find". It's not there at any other time. I
have made sure it's not in the background. I have deleted the field and
re-created it. I have deleted the dependent fields, and re-created them. I'm
stuck.

Any and all ideas/solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Wesley

Is the find scripted? Is the value being set in the script? Typically
nothing shows in a field in find mode.

Michael,

Thanks for responding. A big AHA! It only occurs when I use the button I
scripted to perform a "find"...

Go to Layout [layout1]
Show All Records
Show Message [message]
Enter Find Mode [Restore]

Did I do this incorrectly?

Thanks,
Wesley

You appraently have the 7 stored with your Enter Find Mode script.
Unless you intended on restoring a prior find request (defined when you
saved the script), then you should unmark the 'restore' option.

Your last script step "restores" the find request(s) that were most recently
used when you created the script, which must have included a number in
repetition number 7 of your field. If you want a blank find request when
you run the script, just uncheck "Restore".
