Default Moving records from one table to another - 07-05-2007 , 10:26 AM

FM 8.5 ADV, WIN XP

Is there an easy way to move a found set from one table to another in the
current file?

I have a script that goes to different tables (Contacts, Inventory, etc.
searching for expiration dates. These are then imported into a Expirations
To Do table. Relationships would work, but in each record there may be
several expirations dates.

Contact may have Drivers License, Passport, First Aid Certs, etc and
Inventory may have warranties to track.

If you use the Import, it always asks for a file name, even if the file is
the current one. The problem I have is if I use a copy of the current
file., it imports from the other file.

Yes, when you import, you specify the file, even if it is the same
one. There's no need to use a copy as your source.
You select the Source and Target tables, then map which (Source) field
is imported to which (Target) field.
If you have to import from more than one table, you perform as many
import operations as necessary.
Put it all in one script and be done with it.
