Default Letters/Words problems in big text fields - 06-13-2005 , 10:22 AM

I face some strange behavior in big text field.

I use filemaker (v7.3 developer on Windows XP) to manage all my
correspondence (letters, invoices, quotation, order, etc.) so there are
some small and big text boxes (20 lines), and :

- on some reccords, when I use diacritics characters (e+', a+', etc.)
some of the others letters are changed. The "a" becomes "@", the "e"
becomes "e+O", etc. The result on the screen is perfect, but when I
print or when I make a PDF some letters have changed.

- on some reccords, when I let filemaker manage the alignement (I
don't cut the lines by myself), some of the word are not displayed and
the alignement is bad. And the result on the screen is perfect, but when
I print or when I make a PDF some words have disappeared.

I use a few fontes (Verdana, Braddon, Arial and Palatino Linotype) and
all are TrueType. I tried to change the font by using "Times New Roman"
(from Windows) instead of "Palatino Linotype", this has just moved the
bad alignement. I have removed unused fonts from my system to clean up
fonts.

The database has started a long time ago with Filemaker from Claris on
Macintosh and has been upgraded on Mac platform, and now migrated on
Windows.

I have compacted, cloned the database and exported, imported the data in
the clone to clean up things, but the problem is still present.

PS : I started this quaestion by answering an older message. Please
excuse the repetition ...
