I have successfully viewed the IWP data when using the IP address (192 ........) that is shown in FM on my WIFI network However, the 192....... IP address only works when operating on my WIFI network (DLINK) How do I find out how to configure my system to access the IWP pages from a computer outside my WIFI network My IP pinged my IP address (not the 192 ...) which is dynamic and it worked but when he entered the IP address in his browser while I was hosting the database (with IWP on) it would not Open the page ...what am I missing here???? There's no need to mask your IP address I bet it's something like192.168.0.2 That's because there are two sets of IP addresses that you are concerned with. One is the "internal" set and the other would be the "external" set. To see your external address, visit http://www.myipaddress.com The challenge is to properly map traffic from the outside to the inside. For this you will need to look into "port forwarding." This is an option in your router. Because IWP is a web server, you need to tell your router to direct incoming traffic on port 80 to port 80 on the machine running FileMaker Pro. Once you accomplish this, you'll be able to point a web browser to the external IP address and see your IWP page. Oh, and services like dyndns.org will enable you to use a more friendly and easily remembered name for your external IP address. This topic has come up many times before in the newsgroup; check Google groups for more responses/ideas.
