Default IWP with Server 8 (not advanced) - 06-28-2007 , 04:38 AM

Is it correct that I can not use IWP when the files are served by
Filemaker Server 8 (not advanced)?

The manual says I need FMP client or FM Server advanced. I have FMP
clients, of course, but they only open the served files (open remote).
Does that mean I can't use IWP?

You are limited to the number of individuals that can connect to your
database, but yes you r can use client version, you don't have to have
Server Advanced. I no longer use IWP but I believe you are limited to
5 individuals connecting.

With Server Advanced it jumps to 100.

Are you saying you can host via IWP from the Pro client if the files
are hosted on an FM Server, as is the case for the OP?

I know that if you are hosting the files with the client, then yes,
you can use IWP to share them to 5 web users.
But it was my understanding that if the files are hosted on a server,
then you must use server advanced to use IWP.

Please correct me if I'm in error here.

Dave
