We share FileMaker recruiter on our network using FMP 7. Users connect
at work using their internal IP address but when they go home, they
connect to the VPN (and get a different IP address), and try to connect
to the database. They get a error message that the license is already
in use on the server. The problem is FMP thinks it is 2 different
computers using the same license but really it is the same computer
coming from 2 different IPs.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Does this timeout after 24 hours or
something?

This really shouldn't be an issue if the user has closed their copy of
FileMaker at the office. But if you are trying to have open two copies
of FileMaker that share the same install code -- or more than the
allowed-for number of simultaneous users on a volume license -- then you
will have problems.

Well, the user definitely closes FileMaker and even shutsdown their
computer before connecting to the server from the VPN and they still
get the error. FileMaker must cache the list of IPs and License codes
for a period of time.
