Interlinear text on FileMaker -

Dear all,
I am told that FileMaker might be a good tool to implement the
following:
---
I am preparing a line-by-line translation of a Greek text (i.e. line
1-Greek; line 2-trans of 1; line 3-Greek; line 4-trans of 3 etc.).
I also want to be able to 'comment' certain words in the Greek (maybe a
bubble in the margin? - like Word's 'comment' feature).
And if possible it'd be good to edit all the English one time, and all
the Greek another.
Does anyone have any ideas about software which would be good for this?

A reply on a different board:

Not sure it this will appeal, but you might experiment with FileMaker?
€ field1=Greek, field2=English, field3=comment;
€ each field formatted for its language/alphabet
€ one record per line.
Then you could EXPORT just the Greek field, or the English, (or both)
into a continuous text file. In the full version, the comment field
wouldn't appear unless it contains anything.
My only uncertainty is would the Greek character system survive the
export process? Worth a try though? You could check this with the gurus
in the FileMaker group, who are usually very helpful.
---
I am completely new to FileMaker, so could someone explain how this
would work?
Thanks for your help!
