Default Import Export of Data between Outlook & Filemaker - 12-03-2005 , 05:26 PM

Hi All,

I would like to know if it is possible, if is relatively easy, to export
client record fields from FM 7 or 8 to appropriate fields in Microsoft
Oultook "Contacts "folder, which as you probably know, is part of the
Outlook. pst file in use. If yes, a quick line or two about it would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Richard

As far as I remember it's possible to export the Outlook contacts to
Excel. You will have field names in the first line of the Excel sheet,
which makes it easy to import into an existing Filemaker file (Filemaker
version 5.5 or higher) file if you have set up fields with the same
names.

There is a plugin that does this automatically eg to Outlook and from
Outlook. I can't remember what it's called but if you search for
Filemaker plugins you should find it.
