Default HLP! - Open file in new window - 04-20-2007 , 12:52 PM

What I need to do:

From a Job Proposal file, I would like to open a "Material Pricing" file in a
new window, smaller, overlaying the current window.

I have tried various methods, call new window size and opening file from the
current - no good

Calling a script ("Remote Access"t) in the material file, going to List Layout
and creating a new window. - no good

BUT, if I run the "Remote Access" script while in the material file, it will
display the list, in a new smaller window, over the original list layout.

Cannot get it figured out right, and don't have hours to play with it.
Its a convienience, not a nesessity, but I'd like to have it.
Am I missing something simple?

All help appreciated!
Thanks, Rand

Hi Rand,

I do this all the time with one simple script step. You will need a
relationship between
the two tables, if you don't already have one. Use the "Go to related
record" script
step and select, "new window" and "view only related records". Then
select the relationship
"Material Pricing" and the layout you want to open. Add the script to
a button,
click the button and it will open the material pricing for that
proposal. To force the user to
use the continue button ad "Allow user abort"= off and the pause
comand.

Have fun, mikeRobeer

Like I said... missing something simple.
I recall that the option is available in the go to related step.... now....

Thanks a bunch for slapping me up alongside the head. :=)
