I have a link that drives a user to a related record via the use of a
script. The issue that I am having is that I am opening the new window
in 600 X 600 pixel mode as to not hide the original record that was
used for the click through. For some reason that window also gets
slightly smaller. I want it to stay full screen and have the related
record just open in a smaller window on top of it. Is this possible ?

In Windows, you cannot have one window fully maximized and another
unmaximized. I always design my databases so that my largest windows
are as large as they can be without being maximized. In this
unmaximized state, I am able to open other, smaller windows in their
unmaximized state as well.

As I already said in other posts, you may mimic the addition of 2
windows, in your case, by duplicating the main window and adding to it
an image of the new smaller window. To make that image you go to the
proper layout, make it in preview mode and copy( ) it all in a global
container field that you will show in a place on your main window at the
size you choose
