I have a database that has about 40 fields. I want each field to have a dropdown list associated with it. I want that dropdown to be populated via a relationship to that field. |

I don't see what's the problem. You can assign a value list to any of your fields : - if the value list is short and rather stable, you can define one by mean of the FILE>Define>ValueList... - if there are many values for a field and if they change often, it is worth making a separate table for those items and use it as value list. Once you've defined a field as "Drop-down list' via the "Field/Control Setup" panel, then appears the "Display value from" and you can select "Define value list". On the appearing panel, clic on "New". You get an "Edit value list" panel, on which you can check "Use values from field". You get one more panel on which you can choose the target table and the field within that table. That's all. Hope it helps. Pierre from Belgium |
