Create a relation to this file from another file, so that Filemaker
opens the file without running the startup script. You can access the
file with the Window menu then.

Since you have FM Pro Advanced, you can turn script debugger on before
opening the file, and then just halt the script from debugger when it
hits the first step.

Thanks. I created a realationship then in the new file crated a script
to excute some of the script in the file which I want to have access
to. I have added some steps to halt the script . The file in the
window menu , but unable to access it where the file options all are
inactive.

Please help.

Sounds like you may have a password protecting the file. You'll need to
enter that password as the file opens ... but if the file is set to use a
default password, then you need to hold down one of the keyboard keys (not
sure which one under Windows) at the same time the file is opening and
then FileMaker will display the Enter Password window.

If you don't have or can't remember the password, then you're stuck and
will have to re-create the entire database again.

I managed to get the password removed and the user identified by using
the utility" Passware Password Recovery kit" and I but again the FILE
OPTIONS is not active and seems that the same user name their with a
password !

If you created this database, you will know how and why you made it like
that. If not, ask the developer of this database for help.

Maybe there are multiple users / passwords and that one does not have full
access to the file.

Sounds like you stuck and will have to re-create the database again from a
new, blank file.
