Default Graphical scheduling timeline - 08-02-2005 , 06:39 PM

Hey all,

FM7, Win XP
I've been trying to come up with a good graphical timeline for projects that
will last from 1 week to just over a year. FM7 has some interesting new
features that some have said make calendar type things easier but I'm at a
bit of a loss.
I would really like an almost zoomable view. One layout with maybe 3 months
viewable, one with 9 months, and one with 18 months. Each project (up to 10
projects simultaneously) would have it's own colored bar indicating how long
a project is projected to take. The details of each project would be viewed
in a separate layout.

I know this is extremely vague, but where should I start? Which
features/commands should I be investigating?

Thanks in advance,

Eide

It appears that you want some sort of Gantt charting capability. Its so
much easier to search for something once you know what its called

Googling: gantt charts filemaker 7

That brings up some good hits with or without plugins. The cleveland
consulting one in particular looks promising. Check out the "free
version" as a starting point.
