Default Go applications - 10-18-2010 , 01:30 PM

Has anyone identified how to package and sell DB's on the iTunes store?

Since a DB7 file is just a file, does it need qualiffication to be sold?

etc.

No where on the apple site or filemaker site can i find any info on selling
db apps. ALl of us have develped dozens of elegant soultions and perhaps
it's time to repacke them for iphone-pad-pod.

The app wouldof couse require FM go from filemaker.

I don't recall seeing apps on the itunes store that require other apps to
run.

Thanks Harry;

But the real deal is if Apple would allow databse apps to be sold on the
app
store... their marketing buzz is much bigger than any of us could
generate.
Since any app (fp7 file) requires the GO app to run, it is an unusual biz
model for app-store.

Yes, you can put any fp7 file on a go equipped iDevice and it'll run (
email, copy, laod up via store, etc.)

It's arguable whether or not a FileMaker database file is really an "app"
(FileMaker Go is of course the actual app), but I haven't looked at the new
rules closely enough to know how the selling of extra levels in game apps,
etc. works. Another possibility might be selling through the new 'books'
section, although it would have to be expanded.

Helpful Harry )
