Default Global Fields in FMP 8 - 01-28-2007 , 02:09 AM

FMP8 and Windows XP

I have two issues

1.
I have a solution which is served using a peer to peer host.I have global
fields holding text which is only updating when it is entered on the host
computer and we have to shut it down to get it to stay? What is with this?
Does any know of this glich?

2.
The second issue is that I have been printing to PDF large text boxes and
one of them is printing fine and the other is printing fine on page 1 then
on page 2 and all consequent pages the left had margin over and wipes out
the last letter on the right hand margin? Has anyone had this issue?

Thanks
Toni

its not a glitch, it is a feature....
global fields is for the multiuser, and should be set by the multiuser.
In your multiuser solution you should make a scripts that sets the the
text in the actually global field and make this your loginscript (set
this in File options).
For a single user solution it remembers the content by shutdown and
reopen, this is also remembered as the default content for multiuser
solutions.

Global fields are unique per user and session. You cannot share global
fields. Use a table with only one record to store your text.

Your "problem with pages after page 1" issue sounds to me like a
Layout Part problem. Check the layout to make sure there aren't any
Leading Grand Summaries or the like.
