Default get record size???? - 02-06-2007 , 07:24 AM






sorry but i want to find out the size of my records. i am writing "get
record size" or
"get field size" google groups but i only get imfo about FMP
limitations.

How can i find out the active field or active record size? (not
get(filesize))

Why would you care what the record size is??? Each record is a
different size, depending on what data you've entered, and the record
size wouldn't seem to have much bearing on anything important.

If, on the other hand, you want to know the size of a container field,
you can use length(ContainerFieldName).

Otherwise, please let us know what you're really trying to do and we can
help you with that. If what you're really trying to do is to find a
record size, then maybe a further explain of 'why' would help.

Thank you very much. Realy helpful tip for me. i want to learn the
foto size of records (actually container size.) . i search it from
fmpro help file "size of " ,"record size" ... . but i didnt search
"length". i am using fmpro for 2 months , i am new.
