Hello all,
i have some funny problem with duplicating records.

I have a form, on the top some fields of a "master record", in the middle i
have an area with related records. In the area i have a button "duplicate"
that has to duplicate the corresponding related record. All works fine, but:
when i, for example, click inside the ares into field a, so that the cursor
is blinking in the field, then click on another related record to the dup
button, then NOT the related record itself will be duplicated, but instead
the master record on the top gets duplicated.
When i click first somewhere into the form so that no record is active, and
then to the dup button, then it works fine.

I already tried all imaginable variations of "goto field []", "goto related
record". No solution found.


Any hints where to look / what to try next?
Is there any faq-page concerning this problem?

We get along with many languages here.

You wrote you have areas... Could you define what kind of areas are these?
Are they layout parts, portals, just plain related fields. And exactly what
does happen when you click the duplicate button. When it is a script, what
does it do?

And the question arises why do you have to keep on duplicating records in a
second table. There might be a couple of perfectly valid reasons, but with
no trouble I could think of a couple of wrong reeasons as well.
