Earlier this week, I attempted to execute my first custom function, and with Howard S.'s help, I succeeded. I was under the following impression: - I need to be using FMP Advanced in order to create a custom function. - Once created, anyone who accessed the database can utilize them. That turns out to not be the case in our environment. I successfully created the function with FMP 8.5 Advanced. I then placed the database on the server at the company's location, running a copy of FileMaker Pro 7 under Windows 2003 Server. When I open the database from the server, using FMP 7, the GetNthRecordSet function that I created does not calculate properly -- it doesn't calculate at all, returning blank fields. There appear to be other requirements here that I'm missing. Anyone care to speculate? - Custom function works as expected with FMP 8.5 Advanced. - Custom function works as expected with FMP 8. - Custom function does not work with FMP 7 on Windows 2003 Server. |
