Default FMP6 printing problem - 04-20-2007 , 02:22 PM

File i could print yesterday will not print today. I get an error
-9705. I don't have a list of errors numbers.
Any thoughts on what happened and how to fix.
Thanks in advance

Its apparently an OS X system error not a filemaker specfic error.

Verify you can print from other applications.
Verify you can print from other filemaker files.

Then:
Try printing different layouts - see if its isolated to a layout.
Try printing manually, not via script - see if its isolated to a
script.

Try doing a page setup, and changing the settings
If possible try printing to a different printer

If its limited to one file in filemaker its probably just a corrupted
layout, or corrupt saved print settings, or something like that. If
its affecting more than just the one file it might be a wider system
problem.

cheers,
Dave

In FM 8 on MacOS X I have recently had several instances of silent
non-print. Everything goes thru the proper motions but nothing comes
out. 3 different printers. The HP printers are silent. The Brother
printer blocks and indicates error. When asked the Brother Utility says,
Page Size Mismatch.

Page Setup cures the problem. Have no idea how or why the page setup got
scrambled.

Hi
The printing problem was in the font manager. Other problems came
from an upgrade to OS10 and switching to FMP7 and still having OS9 on
the system where the nonprinting FMP5 files were generated, The five
hundred or so page report has been printing and is ready for binding.
Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions, Art
