Default fmp6/5.5 on windows 7 with two users - 08-24-2010 , 12:18 PM

So in winXP, I had fmp6.0U and fmp 5.5 installed on the computer. And two different users logging into the computer, "Administrator" (with admin rights) and "Downstairs" (with limited rights), both logged in at the same time. I had fmp6 running on Administrator, and fmp5.5 running on Downstairs, and it worked well enough.

Now in Win7, I tried the same setup, and I can get both versions to run like in winxp, but for some reason, the data shown in Downstairs was only up until last semester. Nothing I did in the current semester shows up when I am logged in Downstairs.
I thought at first this might be a fmp5.5/win7 glitch, but even when logged in to Downstairs using fmp6.0U, I only get up to last semester data.

Odd thing, accessing the database from my 3rd computer, win7 with fmp6, I have all the data.

Opening the files in Downstairs, I see that there is a lock icon on the files, which may or may not be related, but I don't know how to fix.

Is my solution just to run Downstairs with admin rights as well? Or is there a way to kjust give the filemaker directory ??full sharing?? access?

Search the hard drive, and your network, for another set of files named
the same thing as the main file. Your Downstairs user is opening a
backup copy created last semester. The Admin user and the remote
computer are both opening the main file.

Backups should *always* be compressed, so as not to be opened by
mistake in these kinds of peer-to-peer hosting situations.

I just searched, I don't have any other version of the files. And when I open the default folder in fmp5.5, it does point to the proper folder in fmp6U.
