Default FMP and Windows XP SP1 - 10-10-2005 , 04:44 PM

I'm not usually a Windows user, but I've to use it sometimes...
My PIV box works (...) with XP SP1, and specs of FMP8 speaks of SP 2.
Is it a real problem ?

Is something stopping you from downloading and installing SP2?

Default A FileMaker wishlist - 10-10-2005 , 05:39 PM

Hey all,

I'm certain many users, like myself have functionality wishes for
FileMaker. Rather than bitch and moan, I'm looking to cull a positive and
proactive list of features that many users are looking for in the next
iteration of FileMaker. I'm not associated with FileMaker in any way
other than a loyal customer.

You can leave your comments on the blog entry of the first few requests
(entered by myself) over at:
http://www.secretweaponlabs.com/word...ture-wishlist/

For those interested, my list so far includes:
- Native printer switching capability
- A central repository/library of graphics used in a solution
- Native client-side rendering of gradients so we don't have to rely on
gradients

and whatever else I think of until next time.

Your time and comments are always appreciated.

Regards,
Denis

FM8 won't work with Xp SP1, you need to download and update XP to SP2

Exactly correct: if you try to install FM8 with SP1, the Installer just
tells you that you need SP2 and quits.

Tablet PC-native so you can write directly into fields.
Tablet PC-native may be able to use Microsoft "ink" in the same way One-Note
works to record and save pen-strokes.

Clients / cutomers who have a tiny bit of intelligence and common
sense, and who actually listen when you say something can't / shouldn't
be done. Unfortunately that's out of FileMaker Inc's control. (
