FMP Unlimited stays in Find mode after web user performs CDML find -

This has been bugging me for months, but I am just getting around to
asking others about it.
I have a big FM system for in-house users, a portion of which is usable
by people outside via a FMP Unlimited 6/CDML system running on a single
Mac that is a normal LAN guest of my server. Typical stuff.
I find that whenever a web user performs a Find for records, the
corresponding file on the Unlimited machine is always left in Find mode
aftwards.
This normally is no big deal at all--of course the web machine is not
used by anyone here--but it is annoying for me during troubleshooting
or when I am watching the Unlimited machine. I keep having to put its
files back into Browse mode so I can see what is happening.
Also, there are a very few cases where I have scripts that get run by
the web user, and those will fail sometimes if they are in Find mode
when run, so I have to put "Enter Browse Mode" in these scripts, or it
will lock up FMU.
Is this just "the way it is for everyone" or am I alone in this? I'd
call FM tech support, but yeah, we all know how a call like that would
go, even if I were using their up-to-date product. |
