Default FM8.5 Newbie w/table occurrences - 11-26-2006 , 07:38 PM

Hi...

I'm hoping that someone has the FM Pro 8 Missing Manual to help me with
this question.

My problem is on page 347 if you do.
If not, here's where I'm stumped:

I create a TO from an existing table and make the relationship.
In the book it says: "Adding fields to the Expense Line Items is like
adding to any other fields, but make sure you are using the Expense
Line Item table occurrence, not the original Line Item".

OK...here's my problem...in the layout menu, it shows all my tables,
but not the table occurrences.
Hence, I can't figure out how to do what the book says.

Any advice welcome.

TIA,
Joe

I don't have that text but...

Keep in mind the list in your layout menu is your list of layouts, not
your list of tables. It just so happens Filemaker (by default I think,
but you can change it) added a layout based on each newly created
table. You have a layout based on each table (not each TO), but you're
not limited to just those layouts. You can create new ones, and base
them on any TO.

That process should be covered in your book.
