Default FM5 Application - 06-28-2005 , 06:48 PM

I do not own FM but have an application, that I have owned for a few years
that was written in FM 5. I now want to use the data in another database...
Is it possible to export the FM data without owning FM? If so how?

I don't think Open Office had a driver.. Neither does MS Access... How
about MySQL?

Thanks

No other application will open a FileMaker database and you can't get
at the data inside a FileMaker database without a copy of FileMaker Pro
somewhere along the line (the one exception being a standalone database
created by FileMaker Developer ... or whatever they calling it this
week).

You could try downloading the demo version of FileMaker 7 from
http://www.filemaker.com , but I'm not sure if that allows exporting or
has that function turned off. It would also want to convert the
database to the new FileMaker 7 format (keep a copy of the old one
somewhere safe!) which might result in some minor problems, although
that should worry you if all you're doing is exporting the data.
