FM Server 8, remote access & security -

Hi: I'm working on the networking side of a FMP 8 server - client
project. I know only a few basics about FMP itself, at least so far.
My questions involve the [alleged] SSL encryption of the server<->client
traffic. I say alleged only because I can't see much written about
it; including how do I confirm from the client side that traffic
actually is encrypted? [short of tcpdump or such...]
I never get prompted to accept a cert, etc. as with most ssl apps.
Further is or is NOT the server<->admin traffic encrypted? If not,
I'm stuck setting up SSH tunnels for that. {Little sense in guarding
the user traffic if the admin passwords are clear text...}
Where can I go to read up on specifics on FM security? I've seen
a "white paper" but that was vague on how to accomplish things.
