Yes it is. I am currently running FMS 5.5 on an xserve.

Thanks for your reply. I actually ended up speaking with FileMaker
about this, and they say that FileMaker Server 5.5 is not officially
supported on Mac OS X Server 10.3 or 10.4, but that there are many more
problems running it on 10.4 Server than 10.3. Apparently most people
running it on 10.3 don't have too many problems. So I guess what I'm
saying is that if you're running FileMaker Server 5.5 on Mac OS X
Server 10.4.x, and you're not having any problems, apparently you're
one of the lucky ones. As for me, based on what they told me, I decided
not to set up 5.5 on this particular machine.
