Default Filemaker Pro import problems under OS X? - 08-01-2003 , 05:19 PM

I have been trying to import some database into Filemaker that are
somewhat large, 300,000 to 1,000,000 records, each record having 7
fields.

I can export the data from the program I am getting the data from and
upon inspection I find no problems with it. After opening the database
in Filemaker the first field in the first 100 records or so are fine,
after that the first fields of the records are filled with "???". This
field is a number, the other fields which are text come thru just fine.
Exporting from the data program in DBF or CSV seems to make no
difference...the data is fine till Filemaker gets it.

Make the number fields a little bit bigger in layout mode

Knowing what the technical meaning for dork is, I wouldn't be
too unhappy...

But yes, there are many times when the simplest answer is the
right one, and people feel silly :-)

Yeah, but this is something I really should have thought of. I have
only run into this before when I first started using Filemaker years
ago...I guess not running into it for years has made me a little rusty!
