I have an issue going on with FMP 5. Have posted before with no luck. Trying again. On starting up, before or as password window appears, my firewall, Zone Alarm posts an alert that FMP is trying to contact the internet. The destination is odd and always... 255.255.255.255:47444. Can anyone shed any light on this? I sell runtime solutions built with Dev5 that do this exact same thing. When ZA doesn't splash an alert it can most always be found in its log. Not absolutely every time it opens but 5-10 times a day. A couple of users have asked about this........ to my consteration. Web Companion is not enabled. Thanks, Bill |

Thanks Howard, Are you saying that just references are picked up on file opening even though they have yet to be called? Bill |

I'm thinking about any scripts that are set to automatically run on open. I'm also thinking about any fields that are on the initial layouts, which are related to external files. One other thing -- if your files are set to be shared as 'multi-user' then there might be an effort by Filemaker to make those files available. Not sure on this, though. bjaynes (AT) montanaport (DOT) net wrote: Thanks Howard, Are you saying that just references are picked up on file opening even though they have yet to be called? Bill |
