Default Filemaker and ODBC - 02-11-2007 , 08:07 AM

We currently use Lotus Approach as a front end to various database formats.
Approach has been dying for a while now and are looking at Filemaker as a
possible replacement. On the surface FM looks good, but I can't quite
figure out how to use ODBC data sources without importing the data to FM
format each time the file is opened.

How can I use an ODBC table w/o importing it in FM?

AFAIK you can't. We recently had rumours here regarding new SQL features
in Filemaker 9 which may or may not be published this year.

Wow. I find that surprising. Is there a "new features" list for FM9?
Otherwise (I know this is OT), does anyone know of other apps that provide
simple interfaces like Approach and FM?
