FileMaker Mobile -

I just received an HP iPAQ mobile PC. Having a lot of FM databases on my
Mac (FM Advanced 8.5), I'm thinking of buying FM Mobile. I've not seen
much information about this, and the FM web site is sparse as well.
About all I find on the FM site is that a file is limited to 50 fields.
That would have been OK info pre-FM7, but now that a Mac/Win FM file can
contain multiple tables, the info seems complete. Also, if I remember
correctly, older versions of FMM couldn't display portals.
Has anyone on this list used FMM 8? If so, can you tell me:
- How does it handle files comprised of multiple tables?
- is the 50 field limit per-file or per-table?
- How large is the application footprint on the pocket PC?
- The FM site says FMM doesn't support SD/CF cards. Does this really
mean that it won't work with files that exist on a SD card plugged into
the slot on my iPAQ? (seems like a dumb limitation)
- Has anyone used FMM on an iPAQ? FM says the product requires and
ARM-based mobile PC, but iPAQ uses a Samsung SC32442 processor.
- How do you sync FM databases between a mobile PC and a Mac (10.4.10)
Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance,
Abbott
