Default FileMaker 8.0 & email brackets - 12-04-2006 , 02:44 PM

Hey all,

I'm trying to better use some of FM's email feaures. I'm in a mixed
environment on OS X.4 & X.3 and any time I try and send an email to an
address specified within a filemaker field the To address is inserted
twice and in brackets (e.g. "<>") in Apple mail. See as follows:

<address (AT) somesite (DOT) com> <address (AT) somesite (DOT) com>

This is killing a nifty feature of my database. Anyone know the
problem and/or the fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Denis

Seems to mes as if FileMaker tries to "construct" the address like
Firstname Lastname <em (AT) il (DOT) adre.ss>
....which is AFAIK a "common" format.

What you could try is make exim "build" the complete eMail address
from the corresponding fields using a formula like:
Firstname & " " Lastname & " <" & email_address & ">"

Regards,
Christian
