Default File Maker Pro 5: Can I host all files at startup? - 08-08-2003 , 03:43 PM

How can make the the computer where all the File Maker Pro 5 database files
are stored the host for these files automatically when the computer starts?
Remote computers are opening the files, becoming hosts and slowing the
systems down? Is there a script file that will do this?

TIA
Gene

"The computer." Kinda generic. I'll assume Windows, because everyone
knows Windows is the only operating system in the entire worl.....oh
wait.

Please let us know your operating system. The procedures for opening
files on startup vary depending.

Sorry...the computers are Win XP using File Maker Pro 5. We do not have
File Maker Pro Server. We have a 5 license pack and I want to make the
computer where the databases reside open the databases automatically at
startup so that remote comuters are always guests to the files. Thanks for
any help.

Where can I find a sample to help me create a script that incorporates
script steps to open files on the host machine, and a sample guest script
file to open a connection to an already openned main file on the host
machine

Thank you for the help.
