Default Field Borders; how not to print! - 11-24-2006 , 01:55 PM

Hi:

I'm having trouble NOT printing field borders. I have set my field
borders to have NO borders under field/control, but when I print, I get
"half a box" confiquration around the fields. It looks like this,
except the horizontal line is on top:

Quote:

It's very annoying. I'm using a FM8 on a Mac with a Xerox Phaser 7300
printer.

Any ideas???

Thanks . . .

robert

In layout mode select your field(s) en set the Effect to 'None'.

It's a little button in the Status Area. An easier explanation is:
Right (control) - click the field and select 'Effects > None'.

Success!

Yep. It sounds like the field is set to use one of the other Effects
options (eg. Embossed, Engraved, etc.).

As a side note, if you want a field to have a border for on-screen use,
but no border when printed, then you can:

- set field to have no borders and no effects

- draw a rectangle over the field and set it to
no fill colour, but to have a line colour of your choice

- set the Sliding / Printing option so the rectangle is
not printed.

Hey Guys,
Thanks, Turning off "fill effects embossed" worked like a charm! Wish
"The Missing Manual" told me that!
